These notecards were inspired by the graphic design Thordis created for the epigraph and chapter title pages for the new 2023 edition of You May Plow Here: The Narrative of Sara Brooks. She drew the pattern itself from a quilt by Martha Jane Pettway (1898–2003) “Housetop”–nine-block “Half-Logcabin” variation corduroy, 72 x 72 inches, circa 1945*
