I started translating my vibrantly-colored paintings into monochromatic graphics in 1991. I enjoy the challenge of preserving the spirit of the original image as I move from one medium to the other. Removing color from an image amplifies the impact of line: life force is no less evident in one rendition than the other. The graphics on many of the cards can be matched with paintings found in my book, Dances in Two Worlds.
